SUNY ESF Men's & Women's Cross Country Repeat as National Champions
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Held at Bells Mills Park in Chesapeake, Virginia, the Mighty Oaks Men's and Women's Cross Country teams repeated as National Champions.
Men’s Cross Country
SUNY ESF took the top two spots and 8 of the top fourteen as they cruised to the 2022 USCAA Men’s Cross Country National Championship this morning.
The Mighty Oaks amassed 24 points to easily outdistance Johnson & Wales Charlotte who came in second with 75 points and Bluefield State University who took third with 95 points.
Matthew Tripp took the individual championship for SUNY ESF covering the 8k course at Bells Mill Park in Chesapeake, VA with a time of 26:25. Sean Dristle, also from SUNY ESF, took second with a time of 27:52. Trevor Kipp was third for the Vermont Tech Knights in 28:03 and Stevenson Barnes from Johnson & Wales Charlotte was fourth (28:15).
Mason Natalini from Penn State Scranton came in fifth in 28:29, while SUNY ESF’s Ryan King came in sixth (28:42). Also, from SUNY ESF Chance Dawson came in seventh in 29:00. Those seven were first team USCAA All-Americans.
Earning second team USCAA All-American honors for coming in eighth through 14th were:

SUNY ESF took the top three sports and five in the top 14 as they ran away with the 2022 USCAAA Women’s Cross Country National Championship this morning amassing 17 points. Christendom College was second with 86 points and Bluefield State University took third with 94 points.
Katie Richardson was the overall champion covering the 6k course at Bells Mill Park, Chesapeake, VA in 24:49, while her teammate, Savannah Kuhr was second in 24:50.
Another Mighty Oak from SUNY ESF, Bruce Hopper, took third in 24:57, Brianna Miranda from Albany College of Pharmacy Health and Sciences was fourth in 25:04, while McKenzie Dombroski took fifth in 25:08. Margaret Ryan from SUNY ESF was sixth in 25:21 and Emma Flynn was seventh in 25:28.
Those seven all earned first team USCAA All-American honors.
