SUNY-ESF Men 3-Peat as Cross Country National Champions
UNIONTOWN, Pa -- SUNY-ESF 3-Peat as Men's Cross Country National Champions at the 2023 National Championships held at Penn State Fayette.
SUNY ESF took 3 of the top 5 spots as they cruised to the 2023 USCAA Men’s Cross Country National Championship this morning.
The Mighty Oaks amassed 25 points to outdistance Johnson & Wales Charlotte for the second year in a row, who came in second with 46 points and Paul Smith's College who took third with 85 points.
Sean Dristle took the individual championship for SUNY-ESF covering the 8k course at Penn State Fayette in Uniontown, PA with a time of 27:26, improving on his second place finish last year. Camden Misenheimer of Johnson & Wales Charlotte, took second with a time of 28:50. Eliot Soderholm was third for Paul Smith's College in 28:56. A pair of runners from SUNY-ESF in Ryan King (29:00) and Ethan Winter (29:01) rounded out the top 5.
Logan Shaffer from JWU Charlotte finished in sixth in 29:04 and Colin Flannery from SUNY-ESF rounded out the 1st team All-Americans finishing in 29:19.
